The Last Night of the Patriot Dynasty
Things I learned after watching the New York (Football) Giants defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII:
1. Eli Manning is a superstar.
2. Steve Spagnuolo will soon be a very rich man.
3. Free Fallin' as the last song of Tom Petty's set was eerily ironic.
4. Justin Tuck is the next Michael Strahan.
5. Asante Samuel literally let perfection slip through his fingers.
6. Steve Smith is the next Amani Toomer.
7. The Giants should trade Jeremy Shockey and start Kevin Boss next season.
8. Tiki Barber is the definition of 'addition by subtraction.'
9. Jerry Reese is the executive of the year.
10. Tom Brady is a gracious loser.
11. Bill Belichick is a loser.
12. Peyton Manning is an awesome older brother.
13. David Tyree will never have to buy a meal/drink in the New York/New Jersey area for as long as he may live.
14. Some players will never win. i.e. Randy Moss, Junior Seau.
15. Wes Welker is the best slot receiver in the NFL.
16. Apparently Gostkowski doesn't evoke the same confidence in Belichick as Vinatieri.
17. If Strahan is smart, he goes out on top.
18. Mercury Morris will never shut up. (And I'm fine with it)
19. The Boston/New York rivalry has gone to unprecedented heights.
20. The Jets play at the "Home of the Super Bowl Champions."
21. Cheaters never win.
22. "1918!" has finally been replaced with "18-1!"
23. "We're only going to score 17 points....hahahaha"
