Yay!

I successfully made it back from finals. Relatively speaking, it was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life. For the first three months of the semester, you coast through your classes, getting decent grades, and generally feeling pretty good about yourself. Then, just as you are done disgesting your Thanksgiving dinner, your teacher informs you about the final coming up. You think to yourself, "Eh, just another test, no biggie". Oh, but it is a biggie. You take a small glance at your syllabus given to you at the beginning of the semester and see that the final is worth about 45% of your overall grade. So that basically means that what you've been doing for the past 3 months is worth roughly the same as a test you are going to take in a hour and a half time frame. And it not just that one class does this, every class does. I took six classes this semester, and in every one I had a "holy-shit-majority-of-my-grade-crap-my-pants" final. And every single test was taken within the same week. What the hell is wrong with these teachers?! Or this school for that matter?! Do they want me to kill myself? Because if I do, there goes that tuition of mine. The tuition I paid. The tuition that will pay for some top basketball recruit's new Range Rover. Anyway, after three weeks of burying my face in textbooks that haven't been cracked since I bought them from the book store, I am finished. God knows what I actually got on the tests. My main concerns with each one was making sure I answered all the questions. Or that my pen was working. But what I love about finals is that as soon as they are over. As soon as you fill in the last bubble. As soon as you hand it in. All the material you have been busting your balls for, for the past three weeks, dissapates in your brain. It's gone forever. Because there is no need for that information ever again. I wish I was a scholarship athlete, someone could take my finals for me.

I'll be back with more...
