Harry Kalas (1936-2009)
The great Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas has passed away at the age of 73. He collapsed in the press box at Nationals Stadium in Washington at about 12:30pm. The cause of death is undisclosed.
With a voice like Harry Kalas', he made me want to be a Phillies fan. He could make a 12-3 blowout interesting just by describing a groundball to third base. Baseball lost a good one today. It is a tough league to get a hit in.
